Monday Blue Starts on Sunday night

It's sunday night and tomorrow is Monday...the day I dreaded almost all the time.

Before I go to sleep tonight I already feeling 'sian' for tomorrow...hai...oh, and I believe students also having the same feeling as me cos today is their last day of June school holiday.

Hehe...I guess I'm not the only victim of Monday Blue...

A Year On...

Time flies...it's been a year passed since the departure of the king of pop, Michael Jackson. I didn't realise it until tv is showing some clips of him in remembering his music and life.

I do like his songs but not really a big fan. Last year, thousands or perhaps millions cried for his death. I felt pity that such talented man leave the world so soon but not to the extend of crying and devastated. I saw from news how crazy those people that idolize him reacted to his death and I guess I'll never know how they feel...

His legacy lives on even after his departure. What a man...

Nobody by Wonder Girls

This is the craze of the moment for quite a while now. I've been seeing and hearing this song like forever and it's still going strong. If you go out to any electronic store (Harvey Norman, Best Denki & Courts) in any shopping mall, the display tv almost 90% showing this music video.

From a 3 years old kid to a 65 years old senior, they all can hum the chorus. The catchy lyrics and rhythm probably making it one hot song around.

Let's join the train of music craze and enjoy the song...

Love On A Plate 名厨出走记

I watch this food travelogue out of curiosity last night. I didn't expect myself will finish watching the 1 hour variety progarmme, let alone blog it here. Well, here I am....out of expectation.

There are too many variety show on TV about food. I'd expect the same ol' fashion way of talk and eat stuff presented by the usual few hosts. However, this one comes with some twists. Celebrity chefs will have to leave their post for few days to travel to some rural areas and using limited ingredients that are available there, they will have to whip up something for the villagers.

The first few chefs interviewed about the possibilities of participating the show was seen puzzled when they were showed the picture the place that they will be going. They seem really reluctant and almost immediately refuse to go. It's no surprise though as they are 'celebrity chefs' and have spacious kitchen and dozens of assistants at their disposal.

Then, this one brave Japanese restaurant chef sportingly said yes and he was sent to Wawee village (I've never heard of this place), Chiang Mai. Then the journey begins....

What keeps me watching is the sincerity of the chef in doing his tasks and didn't complain much on the tasks he need to do. He's even gamed to pluck tea leaves for 2 hours in return for 100g of good quality of Wulong leaves as one of his ingredient for his dish.

I'm looking forward to the coming episodes and hope to see more interesting interaction between chefs and local villagers.

Father's Day

Every 3rd Sunday of the month of June is Father's Day. My father is staying in KL with my brother, so I skype to wish him 'Happy Father's Day'.

I have a lot of respect for my dad. He's the strict disciplinary figure in the family. Me and my brothers 'feared' him when we were young. We tried to behave ourselves whenever dad is around, but heaven turns hell when he's out for work. My mom has no authority over us.

My dad used to cane us when we were young. I'm the one that usually get the most caning cos I'm the worst behaved kid in the house. I used to 'hate' my dad for punishing me all the time. I felt outcast in the family, there's a moment in my teenage year that I thought I'm not their daughter.

Years later, I'm thanking my dad for all his 'caning' (teaching). I could turn out worse than I am today...He's an old man now and all I felt for him is respect and love. I can feel his love for me as well. I'm grateful that he's my dad and pray for his health and joy.

All I want to say to him now is "I love you, Pa"!

Sony VAIO Z

I've been thinking of buying a new laptop since my old Sony VAIO series C keep failing on me. It's the 2nd time I need to send it for repair in 3 years. Luckily I've got extended warranty on it or else it'll cost me.

I'm not considering netbook even though it's cheaper and weight less generally. Unfortunately the cheaper price tag also means older OS (mostly XP) and slower processor with smaller memory capacity.I'm using HP desktop that runs on Core 2 Quad and 4GB RAM, with wide LCD monitor at home. I'm so used to the speed and lack of lagging, anything slower than this will really frustrate me.

That's why I bought the Sony VAIO Z. It's pretty expensive ($3799 + $679 on extended warranty) but it runs on Core i5 with turbo boost and 6GB RAM. Besides Bluetooth and Wireless LAN, this model also has Wireless WAN which provides a SIM slot for mobile broadband, so you don't have to carry the USB stick. It's pretty light, only weighs about 1.4kg with a DVD drive. The cover surface also won't leave fingerprint marks which is a plus for me.

I'm going to start enjoying my laptop at the expense of my wallet...:o/ Well, as the saying goes "No Pain, No Gain"...hahaha...

I'm hooked on this anime right now!



It was showed on Animax same week telecast from Japan. I didn't subscibe to Animax until recently Starhub made it a complimentary channel. I caught a glimpse and then the rest is history...

It's really cute to see Misaki and Usui developing their feeling for each other after he found out that she worked at a maid cafe. The animation was great with funny expression that made the anime even more attractive.

I wasn't interested in anime before and now I'm starting to get mesmerised. I'm impressed with Japanese. How did they come up with these stories??!! It's really captivating and no wonder there's a lot of "otaku" out there.

I'm on episode 12 now. But it's a bit frustrating cos it only show 1 episode per week. I wonder how many episodes there will be since the manga is still on going. Anyway, I will be continue looking forward to watch it every week.

Americans elected Democrat Barack Obama as their first black president, in a transformational election which will reshape US politics and reposition the United States on the world stage.

McCain had argued that Obama was too inexperienced to be US commander in chief and would pursue "socialist" redistribution policies that would leave the economy mired in recession.

McCain, 72, an Arizona senator, would have been the oldest man ever inaugurated for a first term in the White House.
